Bush Morning Glory (Ipomoea leptophylla) is a hardy perennial flowering shrub that makes a wonderful addition to any Southwestern flower garden or Xeriscape landscape theme.  Bush Morning Glory will soon become a  favorite of  butterflies, honey bees, and hummingbirds that inhabit your gardens.  This plant, which some people call Man Root, blooms throughout the Spring and Summer months with hundreds of beautiful pink/purple funnel shaped flowers.  Bush Morning Glory is a member of the sweet potato family and grows a large edible taproot that was a food source of the Plains Indian Tribes as well as a remedy for nervousness and stomach ailments.  This is a drought tolerant flowering shrub that can be planted in zones 5 thru 9, and is adaptive to most well-drained soil types, but is particularly fond of sandy and coarse soils.
