White Prickly Poppy (Argemone albiflora) is a drought tolerant annual flowering plant that makes a beautiful addition to any Southwestern or Xeriscape themed flower garden.  White Prickly Poppy's large delicate inflorescence will become a staple of  honey bee's, butterflies, and other pollen gathering insects that inhabit your gardens.  This plant blooms throughout the spring and summer months, April to August, with flowers up to 4" in diameter.  A poultice made from White Prickly Poppy was used topically by the Plains Indian tribes as a wound dressing and a treatment for other skin ailments.  White Prickly Poppy can be planted in zones 5 thru 11, and is adaptive to most moist well-drained soil types, but is particularly fond of loose sandy soils.
